Pre-production began on SIN-JIN SMYTH (www.sin-jinsmyth.com) earlier this month, a ‘dark’ horror film (with a film noir type vibe) which takes place over Halloween as two Federal Marshals (played by Richard Tyson and Jason Hildebrandt, both from Black Hawk Down) report to the small town of Shin Bone, Kansas (moments after a tornado warning) to transport a prisoner with no past and no identity. He is known only as…SIN-JIN SMYTH! Other than that story line, details surrounding to production are under strict lock and key.
“This film takes us through the badlands of Kansas and gets wicked fast!” said Jonathan Zimmerman who joined the crew after wrapping up two Tobe Hooper films in a row (Tool Box Murders and Mortuary) Director Dettenmaier refused to discuss story and plot points but did say he planned to “keep it dark and kick you teeth in!”
Make-up and Monsters (Stigmata, Pirates of the Caribbean 2) who designed and developed the monster for Jeepers Creepers are locked in handle the F/Xs. Midnight Syndicate is onboard to compose the music. Rob Howeth (Mortuary) is the Production Designer and The Battle Cry Advisory Group (Under Siege, Under Siege 2) have unloaded an armory of high-caliber weapons for the piece. The rest of the cast includes Lee Ving (Black Moon Rising, Clue and lead singer of the punk band FEAR) Lewis Smith (Southern Comfort, Wyatt Earp, Buckaroo Banzi) Jacqueline Moore (Of the WWE.) and a few surprises…
Sounds like a great one!
